reflective consultation

Elizabeth maintains a Reflective Consultation practice to community agencies and professionals where space is created to think about the difficulty of the work and to come back to it with a renewed lens, refreshed thinking, and a greater purpose while being more fully integrated as a professional. This support helps with retention and prevents burnout.

By having this space and being held in another's mind, professionals are able to become aware of how their own thoughts, feelings, and "hot buttons" impact the work. By becoming aware of our internal reactions, the parallel process and interventions become more clear and empathy and understanding is gained. Thus, developing relationships with our clients and families become more successful.

Elizabeth has worked with Head Start Early Education Teachers, Public Health Supervisors, Nurse Family Partnership Teams & Supervisors, and Parent Aware. Please contact Elizabeth if you or your professional organization is interested in Reflective Consultation.

When it’s going well, reflective consultation/supervision is a holding environment, a place to feel secure enough to expose insecurities, mistakes, questions and differences.
